Master Advanced Pediatric Resuscitation Skills

At Panhandle Frontline MedEd, our American Heart Association (AHA) PALS Provider Course trains healthcare professionals to confidently manage complex pediatric respiratory and cardiovascular emergencies. Whether you are renewing your credentials or expanding your clinical expertise, you will learn to quickly recognize and treat cardiopulmonary arrest, manage respiratory distress and shock in infants and children, and lead high-performance pediatric resuscitation teams.

What You Will Learn

Our hands-on training reflects the latest AHA guidelines, emphasizing team dynamics and advanced pediatric care. Key skills include:

Systematic Approach: Utilizing the evaluate-identify-intervene sequence and the Pediatric Assessment Triangle (PAT) for rapid, accurate patient assessment.
Basic Life Support Integration: Applying high-quality child and infant CPR and early defibrillation seamlessly into advanced life support protocols.
Respiratory Emergencies: Recognizing and managing various types of respiratory distress and failure, including the safe use of advanced airway devices.
Shock Management: Identifying and treating compensated and hypotensive shock, prioritizing rapid vascular access, fluid resuscitation, and critical medications.
Cardiac Emergencies: Accurately identifying and treating life-threatening pediatric arrhythmias, including bradycardia, tachycardia, and cardiopulmonary arrest.
High-Performance Team Dynamics: Communicating effectively and performing efficiently as both a leader and a vital member of a pediatric resuscitation team.

Student Requirements

To successfully complete this hands-on course, students must have the following:

AHA PALS Provider Manual (latest edition; e-book or hard copy is required for all course formats)
Precourse Self-Assessment Certificate (printed or digital proof of completion is required prior to class)
Current AHA BLS Provider Card (or demonstrated proficiency in high-quality BLS skills)
Valid Photo ID
Comfortable, Appropriate Clothing suitable for active, hands-on participation on the floor

Course Format Options

Instructor-Led Training (Traditional Classroom)

The Instructor-Led format is a traditional, fully in-person classroom experience. Guided by our experienced AHA-certified instructors, you will complete the entire course in one sitting.

How it works: Students watch the AHA course videos, participate in group discussions, practice life-saving skills hands-on, and complete both the written exam and the skills testing under the direct supervision of an instructor.
Best for: Students who learn best in a traditional classroom environment, prefer real-time feedback throughout the entire learning process, or enjoy interactive group dynamics.

HeartCode® (Blended Learning)

The HeartCode format provides a flexible, two-part learning experience that combines self-paced online education with a brief in-person skills test.

How it works: 1. Online Portion: You will first purchase and complete the interactive AHA HeartCode PALS online module at your own pace. This covers the cognitive learning and written exam portions of the course. 2. Hands-On Skills Session: Once you finish the online module, you will bring your completion certificate to our training center for an in-person, hands-on skills practice and testing session with an instructor.
Best for: Busy healthcare professionals, returning students renewing their credentials, or anyone looking to minimize their time spent in a classroom.
